In addition to the security available from Windows networking, ISI utilizes its own security architecture
System administrators create a customized profile for each user with each privilege and access type assigned individually
When a user signs on, the ISI system enables only the authorized activities for that user ID
Users can be restricted to specific departments or specific facilities within multi-departmental and multi-entity health systems
ISI’s Electronic signature via requires an additional authorization (PIN) per CMS guidelines
ISI does not use e-mail technology to route documents due to HIPAA. All delivery is accomplished within our secure network environment and tracked including hard copy and online options

Authorized ISI users may view prior versions of a transcript with each version’s author (speech rec engine, transcriptionist, editor and provider) and time and date of changes
While using personal computers, smart phones or tablets, the patient demographic information, transcripts and voice files are triple DES encrypted and password-protected on all devices
If a provider loses his smart phone or tablet, the user’s password can be immediately changed via the ISI Admin Console
When a user, remote or on-site, logs off from the ISI system, all transcripts, patient demographic data and voice files are removed from the device, including PCs, tablets and smart phones
If a provider forgets to log off the Mobile smart phone app, the system will automatically log the user off due to inactivity after a configurable amount of time
Each dictation is sent as an encrypted file from the Mobile app instead of openly streamed
